Wednesday, October 4, 2017: Dr. Duncan Sinclair
Our speaker today was the distinguished former dean of the Queen's University Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Duncan Sinclair. Dr. Sinclair, who has an encyclopedic knowledge of the health care systems in Canada, spoke eloquently on the topic "Canada: The Triumphs, Troubles, and Travails of Medicare". It was an engaging, insightful presentation that left the Later Life Learning Belleville audience with many ideas to ponder. Thank you, Dr. Sinclair!
I plan to post Dr. Sinclair's informative PowerPoint slides on this blog by the end of the week.
Next week, Wednesday, October 11, the penultimate speaker of this series will be Professor Janet Hiebert, Department of Political Studies, Queen's University. Her topic will be "Canada: The Age of the Charter". The lecture is at 10 am at St. Thomas' Anglican Church, 201Church Street, Belleville. Single tickets are $15 at the door. Next week will also be the last opportunity to buy tickets for the luncheon at Dinkel's Restaurant after our final lecture on Wednesday, October 18. The cost is $25.
